I spent a few years working in the area of sensor networking, where I implemented a small, multi-threaded operating system for 8-bit microcontrollers. After getting sick of debugging with LEDs and changing batteries I got more interested in large scale distributed systems and peer-to-peer networking. You might be interested in my P2P notes.
